Job Description
The Multicultural Community Resource Center (MCRC) is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Driver to support our After-School Tutoring Program. This position is responsible for safely transporting children between their homes, schools, MCRC, and other approved program locations within the Erie community. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, demonstrate patience and professionalism, and have the flexibility to accommodate changing program and transportation needs. Availability during after-school and early evening hours is required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport children to and from MCRC's After-School Tutoring Program. Pick up and drop off students at their homes, schools, or other approved locations. Provide appropriate supervision and support while children are entering, exiting, and riding in the vehicle. Follow assigned transportation schedules and communicate promptly regarding delays, absences, or scheduling concerns. Maintain accurate transportation and attendance records as required. Ensure that all passengers follow established vehicle safety procedures. Keep the assigned vehicle clean, safe, and ready for use. Report vehicle maintenance needs, safety concerns, accidents, or incidents immediately. Communicate respectfully with children, families, school personnel, and MCRC staff. Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Reliable, responsible, punctual, and committed to passenger safety. Comfortable working directly with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Ability to remain patient, professional, and attentive while transporting students. Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules and program needs. Ability to follow transportation procedures and maintain confidentiality. Previous experience transporting or working with children is preferred.
