GRE Test Preparation Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable GRE Tutor to provide individualized and/or small-group test preparation support to students preparing for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). The tutor will help students strengthen their skills, improve test-taking strategies, identify areas of weakness, and build confidence for the exam. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide GRE preparation instruction tailored to students' individual needs and skill levels.
  • Teach and review key concepts covered on the GRE, including: ○ Verbal Reasoning ○ Quantitative Reasoning ○ Analytical Writing
  • Develop structured lesson plans and engaging instructional activities.
  • Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Provide practice questions, exercises, and mock-test preparation.
  • Teach effective GRE test-taking strategies, time management, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate tutoring records, session notes, and required reports.
  • Communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians when applicable, and program staff.
  • Maintain a supportive, encouraging, and professional learning environment. Qualifications & Requirements
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum GRE score of 320+ is required for candidates serving as GRE tutors.
  • Previous experience tutoring or teaching GRE preparation strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GRE Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing.
  • Excellent communication and instructional skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds.
  • Reliable computer, internet connection, and ability to conduct virtual tutoring sessions when required. Preferred Skills
  • Previous standardized test preparation experience.
  • Experience developing customized learning plans.
  • Familiarity with online tutoring platforms and digital instructional tools.
  • Strong student engagement and motivational skills.
Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 1.0 - 4.0 per week
