Job Description

Job Overview Joyful Learning Academy is a K-12 after-school enrichment and test prep center in south Charlotte. We work with motivated students in small groups using our own curriculum. Our teachers walk into class with everything prepared — lesson materials, worksheets, and answer keys are provided. We are hiring a part-time math teacher for our high school students. Classes are small (typically 1-6 students) and held in person at our McKee Road location on weekday afternoons and early evenings. No weekend classes, and we build your schedule around the hours you're available. What You'll Teach High school math: Math 1/2/3, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Honors sections SAT and PSAT math prep AP Calculus and AP Statistics (a plus, not required) Duties Teach scheduled classes using our provided curriculum and materials Track student progress and write brief feedback for parent reports Communicate with the director about student needs and pacing Arrive prepared and on time for each scheduled session Qualifications Strong command of high school math through Precalculus Prior teaching or tutoring experience with high school students preferred Bachelor's degree, or currently a junior/senior in math, engineering, education, or a related field Patient, clear, and reliable with students and schedules Must pass a background check Schedule Monday-Friday, afternoons and early evenings Part-time, approximately 8-15 hours per week depending on enrollment and your availability No Saturday classes Pay $25.00
