IB Physics & Advanced STEM Tutor Company Overview Power Plus Tutoring has been providing personalized academic support to students since 2016. We specialize in matching students with highly qualified tutors based on subject expertise, academic needs, and individual learning styles. We support students from elementary through high school in mathematics, science, test preparation, and other academic areas through both online and in-person instruction. Job Summary Power Plus Tutoring is seeking a highly qualified IB Physics & Advanced STEM Tutor with strong academic credentials and demonstrated experience teaching rigorous upper-level Physics. This is a specialized tutoring position for an experienced educator or STEM professional who can provide instruction beyond traditional homework support. The ideal candidate will have direct experience with IB Physics, AP Physics, calculus-based Physics, university-level Physics, or a similarly rigorous curriculum and the ability to teach complex concepts through advanced quantitative reasoning and problem-solving. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise extends beyond Physics and who are qualified to tutor additional advanced mathematics or science courses. Responsibilities Provide individualized instruction in IB Physics and other advanced Physics coursework Support students with complex concepts, problem sets, laboratory analysis, examinations, quizzes, and IB assessments Prepare students for IB Physics and other rigorous cumulative examinations Teach advanced quantitative problem-solving and scientific reasoning Identify conceptual and mathematical gaps and develop targeted instructional strategies Help students interpret complex problems, determine appropriate methods, and develop independent solutions Reinforce the mathematical applications required for advanced Physics Adapt instruction to individual student learning styles and academic needs Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Communicate professionally with students, families, and the Power Plus Tutoring team Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related STEM discipline Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring advanced high school or college-level Physics Experience with IB Physics, AP Physics, calculus-based Physics, university Physics, or an equivalent advanced curriculum Strong command of advanced quantitative problem-solving and mathematical applications in Physics Ability to explain sophisticated scientific and mathematical concepts clearly and effectively Experience working with high school students in academically rigorous courses Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability Ability to provide effective virtual instruction using online educational technology Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following: Direct IB Physics teaching or tutoring experience Experience teaching
AP Physics C:
Mechanics and/or Electricity & Magnetism Master's degree, Ph.D., teaching credential, or advanced professional STEM experience Experience teaching or tutoring calculus-based Physics Ability to tutor additional advanced STEM courses such as Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics, Chemistry, Engineering, or advanced Mathematics Experience preparing students for IB, AP, or university-level examinations Several years of successful advanced STEM teaching or tutoring experience Compensation $40-$45 per hour, based on qualifications, credentials, and experience. The higher end of the range is intended for candidates with direct IB/AP Physics experience, advanced academic credentials, and/or demonstrated expertise across multiple upper-level STEM subjects. We are seeking an experienced professional who brings the academic depth and instructional expertise necessary to help students succeed in some of the most rigorous high school STEM courses.
Pay:
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 3.0 - 20.0 per week
