In this role, you'll work 1-on-1 with the same student(s) each week, building meaningful connections and helping them grow academically over time. You'll set your own schedule, choose the grade levels and subjects you're most comfortable tutoring, and even select the students you'd like to work with. Whether you prefer working with younger students or focusing on specific subjects, you'll have the freedom to create a tutoring experience that fits you. No prior tutoring or teaching experience is required, and students from all majors are welcome to ! Tutors must be comfortable conducting sessions over Zoom. For safety and quality assurance, all sessions are recorded and reviewed as needed. Responsibilities Maintain a responsive line of communication with your student and their parent/guardian Host tutoring sessions at least once a week for 60 minutes with each student Support your student/s through homework help, test prep, study skills, etc. Act as a mentor, not just a tutor Required Qualifications College/University student awarded Federal Work Study Reside in the United States Consent to a DOJ Dru Sjodin Sex Offender Database ground check Complete all Learn To Be FWS Tutor onboarding Desired Qualifications Understanding of technology or the ability to learn quickly Responsible, organized and a good communicator Flexible & empathetic to students from differing circumstances Passionate about working with K- 12 students Special Instructions to Applicants Must have FWS and will need to complete a Live Scan.
