What You'll Do As a Mathnasium Instructor, you will: Work with small groups of students using the proven Mathnasium Method Provide individualized instruction based on each student's customized learning plan Help students understand math concepts instead of simply memorizing procedures Encourage students and build their confidence in math Work with students ranging from elementary math through Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus Maintain a fun, positive, and engaging learning environment We typically maintain approximately a 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio , giving you the opportunity to spend meaningful time helping each student. 10:00 AM-1:00 PM We are looking for instructors who can work within these hours on a consistent part-time schedule. You do not need to be available every day. What We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Have a strong understanding of mathematics Enjoy working with children and teenagers Are patient, dependable, positive, and encouraging Can explain concepts in different ways until they make sense to a student Have strong communication skills Are comfortable teaching through Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus Have Calculus knowledge — a plus, but not required Are interested in staying with Mathnasium for at least 9 months Previous tutoring, teaching, coaching, mentoring, or experience working with children is helpful, but not required if you have strong math skills and the right personality. Our Hiring Process All applicants begin with a Math Literacy Test , regardless of education level, teaching experience, or credentials. The assessment covers foundational math concepts through approximately: Algebra I Algebra II Geometry Don't worry — we aren't looking for human calculators.
