Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized, one-on-one tutoring tailored to the student's academic needs, coursework, and learning goals Provide academic support in 12th-grade Math, including Calculus, Reading, Test Preparation, and Assignment Help Explain challenging concepts using clear, structured, practical, and easy-to-follow teaching methods Support the student in developing stronger academic skills and deeper understanding rather than simply completing assignments Develop and use individualized lesson plans, practice activities, and supplemental learning materials based on the student's coursework and areas for improvement Adapt instructional strategies and lesson delivery according to the student's learning pace, strengths, academic needs, and progress Provide appropriate academic support for a student with ADHD (medicated) and an IEP/504 Plan Use structured and engaging instructional strategies to help the student remain focused, organized, and actively involved during tutoring sessions Assist the student with test preparation, assignment completion, study strategies, and overall academic organization Monitor academic progress, identify areas requiring additional support, and adjust instruction accordingly Encourage effective study habits, critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning skills Travel to and conduct in-person tutoring sessions at the student's home or a nearby library in Dallas, TX 75287 Maintain regular communication with the coordinator regarding student progress, attendance, and scheduling updates Maintain professionalism, preparedness, punctuality, and consistency throughout all scheduled tutoring sessions
Schedule:
2 hours per week Monday-Friday, 6:00 PM-7:00 PM Schedule may be arranged based on the tutor's availability and the student's academic needs Tutoring sessions will be conducted in person at the student's home or a nearby library
Qualifications:
Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, or providing academic support Strong knowledge and proficiency in 12th-grade Math, including Calculus Ability to provide effective support in Reading, Test Preparation, and Assignment Help Ability to explain challenging academic concepts clearly and in an easy-to-understand manner Experience working with high school students and supporting advanced academic coursework Ability to teach concepts and strengthen academic skills rather than simply assist with homework completion Ability to adapt teaching strategies based on the student's learning pace, academic needs, and progress Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Patient, reliable, structured, and dedicated to supporting student success Ability to maintain student focus, engagement, and participation throughout tutoring sessions Reliable transportation for attending in-person tutoring sessions Ability to maintain professionalism, consistency, punctuality, and preparedness during scheduled tutoring hours
