Job Description
This job requires general administrative and tutorial duties that are discipline specific for the Mathematics Department. The incumbent is responsible for administrative and tutoring duties that will help assist students that are in the Advanced Mathematics Laboratory and proctor math assessments.
- Associate Degree or 60 credits towards a Bachelor Degree required from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education or major in mathematics with experience through Calculus II.
- Completion of Calculus II AND Differential Equations or Calculus III preferred. 2 years customer service wage earning experience required.
- Experience using Microsoft applications including online learning management systems and experience using graphic calculator required.
- Must have ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels
- Must be computer literate
- Demonstrate a high level of verbal and writing skills as well as computational skills
- Assisting student requesting walk-in tutoring
- Proctor math assessments to uphold academic integrity
- Monitoring student use of math software, computers, and printer to include corrective action
- Monitor and assist student use of personal and lab calculators
- Tutors individuals and small groups as assigned by the Math Resources Coordinator
- Run the Advanced Math Lab when the Math Resources Coordinator is not available or his/her schedule work time has concluded (per schedule)
- Perform other required tasks as assigned by the supervisor and departmental chair
