Job Description
We are the Hampshire Township Park District, providing recreational, educational and cultural opportunities that improve the quality of life through a responsive, efficient and creative park and recreation system since 1948. We are looking for Athletic Game Officials to work with our athletics programs. This is a non-exempt, seasonal, part time position. Within the title of "Athletic Game Officials" we have multiple area that we are looking to fill:
REFEREES
- For Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball.SCOREBOOK / SCOREBOARD
- For Volleyball and Basketball (Recreation League and Jr. Whips Competitive League)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Officiate at assigned athletic games. Assist with set up and take down of game and program site equipments. Help ensure a positive contest atmosphere by emphasizing sportsmanship and adherence to park district guidelines on the part of players, coaches and fans. Attendance, punctuality and dependability are a must. Must be available to attend staff meetings, trainings, evaluations and orientations. Exhibit excellent customer service to participants and parents and the ability to work with a team to achieve a successful program. Must be a role model for participants by using proper language, acceptable attire, appropriate behavior and being courteous at all times. Ability to provide professional written and verbal communication with participants, parents and staff. Must use good judgment and follow safety policies/protocols of the school and the park district. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age OR have an eligible work permit Have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to/from work AND Current CPR, First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
