Basketball Scorekeeper Recreation Department The Village of Western Springs is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable individuals to join the Recreation Department team as Basketball Scorekeepers. Key Responsibilities Operate the scoreboard and record statistics for travel and recreational basketball leagues. Ensure accurate scorekeeping and smooth game operations. Assist coaches, referees, and staff as needed during games. Maintain a safe and positive environment for players and spectators. Minimum Qualifications Basic knowledge and understanding of basketball rules. Prior experience in sports coaching or team management is a plus. Ability to follow departmental safety and administrative policies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be at least 14 years of age . Physical Demands/ Work Conditions While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently walk, stand, sit, and drive. Normally, work hazards are not common, though care should be taken in the field. The employee will be required to occasionally lift or carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and push or pull up to fifty pounds. Occasional performance of overhead work, bending stooping, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and squatting are required.

Hours:

Games are held on Saturdays and Sundays from November through March. Hours vary based on programming schedule. Training will be provided for all new scorekeepers. Compensation and Benefits The hourly salary range is $15.00 - $16.00 per hour depending on qualifications. This position does not include benefits.
