Job Summary:
ABOA is a not-for-profit sports officiating organization that provides officials for local high school, middle school, and youth level games (UIL, TAPPS, AAU, Select). We are seeking Referees to oversee basketball games and ensure fair play.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
but the ideal candidate should have a passion for basketball and experience in coaching or playing sports, particularly basketball, and possess excellent communication and conflict management skills.
Pay:
Depending on number of games worked, $65 per $150 per assignment with the potential to earn $5000 plus your first season.
Responsibilities:
  • Officiate basketball games, enforce rules, and make impartial decisions
  • Ensure the safety of all players and maintain a respectful environment
  • Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators
  • Resolve conflicts or disputes during games
  • Provide guidance and feedback to players for skill improvement
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience playing/coaching/officiating any sport is a plus but not necessary
  • Strong communication skills to interact with players, coaches, and spectators
  • Ability to manage conflicts and make fair decisions under pressure
