Houston, TX Job Details 6 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Customer relationship building In-person customer service Event customer service Full Job Description This position works under the general direction and supervision of the JCC Maccabi Basketball Commissioner. The seasonal Basketball Scorekeeper/Clock Operator is responsible for operating the scoreboard and maintaining records of scheduled basketball games coordinated by the Commissioner. Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for the position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned. Respond immediately and effectively to any emergency. Afterwards report emergency immediately to Commissioner and Venue Director, and file report. Record each point made be it through a scored point or penalty point. Adjust team scores in accordance with official's decision. Keep track of possession arrow. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service. Responsible for keeping time by starting and stopping the clock. Responsible for keeping records of all fouls and player eligibility. Turn in paperwork and game results to designated supervisor. Communicate any problems or concerns to the Commissioner and Venus Director. Prepare facility before game and clean and take down all equipment after game. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. Must have a basic knowledge of basketball or the desire to learn the sport. Experience working with teens is preferable. Knowledge and Abilities Basic knowledge of basketball. Knowledge of supervising teens in an educational or recreational setting. Ability to see plays with sufficient clarity to maintain accurate scoring records. Ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to work indoors at a variety of playing sites. Ability to tolerate and work with exposure to loud noises. Must have great customer relations and communication skills as well as reliable transportation. Work Schedule Monday 7:00 PM-10:00 PM and/or Wednesday 7:00 PM-10:00 PM Part‑time team members enjoy a complimentary Individual Health & Fitness Membership, including access to our fitness center, group exercise classes, aquatics complex, gymnasium, pickleball, adult locker rooms (age permitting), and five annual guest passes.
