As a paid referee, you will oversee flag football games for children and teenagers, ensuring that rules are followed, safety protocols are maintained, and players enjoy a positive sporting experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy activity while developing your officiating skills. Responsibilities Enforce game rules accurately and consistently during youth flag football matches to ensure fair play. Manage player conduct on the field, promoting sportsmanship and resolving conflicts effectively. Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to explain rulings and maintain order. Monitor game safety by adhering to established safety protocols, including first aid readiness and emergency response procedures. Conduct manual handling tasks such as setting up equipment or assisting with field maintenance when needed. Operate AED (Automated External Defibrillator) devices in emergency situations and provide CPR if necessary. Maintain detailed records of game incidents, rule violations, and safety checks to ensure compliance and proper documentation. Requirements Prior experience in sports officiating or coaching, especially in sports such as flag football, soccer, basketball or baseball. Strong knowledge of sports rules interpretation across multiple disciplines including football, soccer, basketball, and baseball. Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation is highly preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications is required. Experience working with children or youth athletes to foster a positive sporting environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely during setup or field maintenance activities. Excellent communication skills to effectively manage players, coaches, spectators, and emergency situations. Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence and conflict management in fast-paced environments.
