Description:
Coaches wanted for for Fall season sports at Seattle Girls' School. The coaches are responsible for all aspects of directing a team's practices, games and meets. Season runs from end of August to end of October. Practice times are between 3:30pm-5:30pm. Game times are from 4:00-6:00pm. Days are Mondays-Thursdays, no weekends.Responsibilities:
- To teach skills through the use of the games approach and through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team.
- To supervise the players before, during and immediately following practices and games.
- Accompany team to scheduled contests to and from competitions and practices.
- To provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all players.
- To serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches in all aspects of speech, attitude, and behavior.
- Be consistent in attendance of practices, and games. Be on time!!
- Stress fun, skill development, and fundamentals. Winning is secondary to these priorities.
- Learn and follow all league rules, policies, and procedures.
- To communicate with the Athletic Director on all matters of policy and procedures. Attend any scheduled coaches meetings.
- Understanding of the school's philosophy and being able to implement those beliefs into the program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coaching knowledge and expertise of the sport.
- Successfully complete the application procedure, pass the background check. Must be patient, dependable, and organized.
- First Aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain before season starts.
- Social justice/anti bias awareness
- Cultural competency All coaches must be fully vaccinated prior to the start of coaching and submit proof of vaccination.
