Job Description
Softball Umpire - $36.75/game - Educational Benefits Provided Underdog Sports Leagues is hiring part-time Softball Umpires to work our adult 21+ softball leagues in Seattle. We pays $36.75/game , offer a flexible part-time schedule , and we offer an education benefit : eligible staff can earn $500 toward college tuition, student loan debt, or a child's 529 education savings plan after working 100 hours in a calendar year. You do not need previous umpiring experience. Underdog trains and certifies our own umpires on our rules, mechanics, and procedures. But this is not a "learn baseball/softball from scratch" role. You should already have a solid understanding of baseball or softball and be comfortable making calls in real time. This is an active, independent role for someone who knows the game, communicates clearly, and can confidently manage an adult recreational softball game. You will work games as the solo umpire, not as part of a crew, so you need to be comfortable being the authority on the field in a friendly, approachable way. You should be confident, but not arrogant. Our softball leagues run January through October.
