Madison Sports & Social Club is looking for friendly, dependable referees for our Fall adult flag football leagues. We'd love to add experienced officials or former players to our team and help you stay around the game. No officiating experience? If you have significant playing experience and enjoy working with people, we'll provide training to help you succeed.

There are two shifts available:

Co-ed football: Games are on Sundays at Orlando Bell Park. The start time is 11 am before the NFL season kicks off. Start times move up to 9 am beginning September 13th. There are generally four games per day. Men's football: Games are on Mondays at Breese Stevens Field. There are usually three games from 7 - 10 pm. Games are 45 minutes (including halftime), but scheduled on the hour, so you'll have a short break between games (barring teams using all their timeouts and lots of other clock stoppages). Seasons generally run from early August until mid-October - depending on the weather. You can work one or both days depending on your availability. We can arrange to have you shadow an experienced official to learn our procedures and differences from other leagues. You'll be paired up with another official for each game after you've completed shadowing shifts. Prior officiating experience is highly desired, but we will train the right individuals who have significant playing experience. We run recreational sports leagues, and thus promote fun and safety above all else. Our officials have a big impact on the player experience, and thus we expect officials to communicate professionally with players while creating a fun, safe, and fair environment. All officials are W2 status. We provide all equipment needed to officiate, along with our league rulebook and referee reference manual. Officials may wish to bring their own whistle, as no one wants to share those. Pay is negotiable, and the estimated range is $25-35 per game depending on experience level.
