Summary of Job Duties:
Primary duties include teaching diesel technology courses using a variety of teaching aids, methods and techniques following the state approved curricula. In addition to teaching, the employee will be responsible for developing instructional and lab activities; maintaining program and student records; assisting with recruitment, placement, and follow-up; participating in professional development activities; and other duties as assigned. Evening and/or summer hours may be required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the full-time faculty position must be an experienced, skilled mechanic/technician with one of the following: a formal education equivalent to a baccalaureate degree with two years diesel experience. a high school diploma or equivalent with five years' experience in diesel technology that includes at least one year of advanced training. a high school diploma or equivalent with six years' experience. Commercial Driver's License Work experience with diesel engines including but not limited to Cummins, Cat, Detroit, International, and John Deere; and experience with trucks including International, Freightliner, Mack, Kenworth, Peterbilt, etc. is preferred; possess specialized computer engine diagnostics, hydraulics, and electrical systems with the ability to read and comprehend schematics; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer skills.
