Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Lead fun, hands-on food preparation and nutrition classes Guide students through simple, age-appropriate recipes Teach basic culinary techniques, nutrition, and food safety Create an energetic, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Manage groups of students and encourage participation and teamwork Complete basic classroom setup and cleanup Follow Rainbow Chefs Academy curriculum, recipes, and safety procedures We Give You the Tools to Teach You won't be expected to create lessons or develop recipes on your own.Rainbow Chefs Academy provides:
Paid instructor training Ready-to-teach curriculum Recipes and lesson plans Program materials and supplies Ongoing support from our program team You bring the energy and classroom presence — we provide the program. Who We're Looking For Our strongest instructors are dependable, energetic, organized, confident leading groups, and genuinely enjoy working with kids. Experience in one or more of these areas is a plus: Teaching or substitute teaching After-school programs Paraprofessional/classroom support Childcare or youth development Summer camps or recreation programs Coaching Culinary arts or food service Nutrition or health education Tutoring or mentoring Culinary experience is welcome but not required. We provide training. Requirements Experience working with children or leading groups preferred Reliable transportation to assigned Bellflower school site(s) Dependable afternoon availability Comfortable managing and engaging groups of students Ability to complete and pay required background/onboarding requirements California Food Handler Certificate before starting Mandated Reporter Training Certificate before starting Associate's degree Part-time | Contract | Approximately 4-5 hours each day With a consistent daily assignment, instructors can expect approximately $115-$140 per day .
