Position Overview NFAR is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Vocational Instructor to join our team and empower participants in our NFAR Works program. We're seeking someone who is passionate, resourceful, and committed to helping autistic and other neurodivergent individuals build pathways to meaningful employment. The ideal candidate is empathetic, highly organized, and skilled at nurturing growth, independence, and confidence in others. This program equips individuals with the essential skills needed to thrive in entry-level roles across a variety of corporate environments, including office and light manufacturing settings. In this role, you will support multiple program areas within the NFAR Works program. As a Vocational Instructor, you'll play a key role shaping curriculum, providing instruction, fostering positive work behaviors, and guiding participants as they gain the skills and experience needed to succeed in the workforce. Key Responsibilities As a Vocational Instructor, your duties will include: Delivery of curriculum based on established program objectives, and NFAR mission and values Opportunities to develop and enhance program curriculum and program materials Provide engaging small group, and at times, one-on-one instruction to program participants, demonstrating tasks and guiding participants toward mastery Organize and manage program logistics including weekly schedules and program assignment tracking Provide leadership and ongoing support to Instructional Assistants to ensure effective program delivery Monitor participant progress, maintain accurate documentation, and regularly report outcomes to inform growth and development Demonstrate strong instructional and presentation skills, ensuring content is delivered clearly, confidently, and effectively Maintain consistency and high quality of course content throughout the program lifecycle, ensuring alignment with program goals and participant needs Create and maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment that fosters participant engagement, collaboration, and autonomy Serve as a role model by demonstrating excellent work ethic, attitude, and professionalism Ability to lift at least 25 pounds Other related tasks as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree Experience working with the neurodivergent community and an understanding of neurodivergence and autism, with cultural awareness and sensitivity to cognitive and socio-economic diversity Proficient in current business software and systems and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with program participants, maintaining patience, empathy, and consistent engagement Passion for motivating and inspiring individuals to reach their full potential, with a focus on developing workplace readiness and fostering independence Experience in job training, as a job coach/instructional aid or in supportive employment - preferred Benefits Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid holidays, vacation time, and sick pay Why Join NFAR?
