Career Skills Institute Basic Functions Santa Barbara City College - Career Skills Institute is seeking PT faculty for Nonprofit courses at the School of Extended Learning. The starting noncredit adjunct rate from salary table 25 is $73.59 per hour-Lecture and $55.20 per hour-Lab. If you have an advanced degree, the rate is $76.73 per hour-Lecture and $57.54 per hour-Lab. Representative Duties Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of part-time faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching. Faculty in this area will teach

Grant writing Education and Experience Bachelor's degree; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught OR Associate degree; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught OR Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter OR For courses in an occupation for which the district offers or has offered apprenticeship instruction, the minimum qualifications for noncredit apprenticeship instructors in that occupation, as specified in title 5 section 53413.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current or previous experience working in the nonprofit sector Experience teaching via Zoom or via hyflex with students participating in-person and via Zoom Previous curriculum creation experience Previous teaching experience to adults who are entering, re-entering, upskilling, or transforming within the workplace. Previous teaching experience, particularly to adults from a diverse range of backgrounds Sensitivity to and respect of the diverse and wide range of students in class. Ability to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion in class.
