The early childhood teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team. The early childhood teacher works with the classroom team to plan, implement, as well as conduct age-appropriate activities in accordance with specified program standards that may include, DCFS, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAYEC), and McGaw YMCA operational policies. This position requires active participation with other members of the teaching teams, and parents to assess and address the needs of individual children and ensure that the child's and family's needs are supported.
