Guide students on their English language learning journey in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity calls for an educator who can design engaging lesson plans that develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for students who are non-native English speakers. Your dedication will provide meaningful support in a culturally diverse classroom and foster a welcoming atmosphere where every student can thrive. The assignment is full-time onsite, offering the chance to make a daily impact in a close-knit school community.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
Valid and active Louisiana Teaching License/Certificate with required ESL or English endorsements. Experience teaching ELA or as a General Education Teacher, preferably working with English learners. Strong classroom management and lesson planning abilities. Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity in a diverse educational setting. Capable of adapting instructional materials and teaching methods for various English proficiency levels. Able to work onsite throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans targeting English language acquisition across all modalities. Assess student progress and tailor instruction to individual language development needs. Foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment that celebrates diversity. Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support student success. Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance. Effectively engage parents and families in supporting students' English language growth.
