Job Summary Tuscan Market is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Cooking School Instructor to oversee and deliver exceptional culinary education programs. This leadership role is responsible for developing and teaching hands-on cooking classes, mentoring instructors, creating engaging class content, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate is an accomplished culinary professional with strong teaching, leadership, and organizational skills who is passionate about sharing the art of Italian cuisine. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all Cooking School operations and instructional programs. Develop, plan, and teach engaging hands-on cooking classes, demonstrations, and special culinary events. Create seasonal class calendars, menus, recipes, and instructional materials. Recruit, train, mentor, and support cooking school instructors and guest chefs. Ensure consistency in teaching quality and guest experience across all classes. Manage class preparation, including ingredient ordering, kitchen setup, and equipment readiness. Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization. Monitor inventory and coordinate purchasing for cooking school supplies and ingredients. Collaborate with the Executive Chef, culinary team, and retail departments to promote classes and enhance customer engagement. Foster a welcoming, educational, and interactive learning environment for guests of all skill levels. Assist with marketing initiatives, community outreach, and private culinary events. Evaluate class performance and recommend new programming based on guest feedback and culinary trends. Professional culinary degree or equivalent combination of education and extensive culinary experience. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 5 years of professional culinary experience, preferably with expertise in Italian cuisine. Previous experience teaching cooking classes or culinary education programs. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a culinary environment. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or ability to obtain). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic scheduling or event management software is a plus. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on class schedules. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
