Weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends About FS Education FS Education is a New York-based STEM learning center serving students ages 6-18. Since 2019, we have provided hands-on programs in robotics, coding, mathematics, artificial intelligence, and competition preparation. We operate three campuses in Flushing, Brooklyn, and Syosset, Long Island. This position is currently available at our Flushing campus. Position Overview FS Education is looking for an enthusiastic Robotics & Coding Instructor to teach hands-on robotics classes at our Flushing campus. You do not need to be a VEX expert to apply. Candidates with experience or coursework in engineering, computer science, robotics, programming, or STEM education are encouraged to apply. Curriculum materials, classroom equipment, and VEX-specific training will be provided. This position is well suited for college students, graduate students, recent graduates, teachers, engineers, and STEM professionals who enjoy working with children. Responsibilities Teach beginner and intermediate robotics classes for students ages 8-14 Guide students in building, programming, testing, and improving their robots Introduce engineering design, coding, problem-solving, and teamwork Help students troubleshoot mechanical and programming challenges Follow the provided curriculum and prepare for each class Maintain an organized, supportive, and engaging classroom Communicate student progress and classroom updates to the campus team Assist with robotics competition preparation when needed Qualifications Educational or hands-on experience in robotics, engineering, computer science, programming, or another STEM-related field Basic coding knowledge in Python, C++, Scratch, or block-based programming Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and age-appropriate way Patient, responsible, dependable, and comfortable working with children Available during weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends Strong communication and classroom-management skills Preferred Experience with
VEX IQ, VEX V5, LEGO
Robotics, FIRST Robotics, Arduino, or similar platforms Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or summer camp experience Experience participating in robotics or engineering competitions What We Provide Structured curriculum and teaching materials Training on VEX Robotics systems Robotics equipment and classroom support Opportunities to work with experienced instructors and award-winning teams Potential for additional teaching hours and long-term growth Schedule and Availability Most of our robotics classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Candidates must be available to work on weekends and should be able to commit to teaching at least four hours per week. Exact teaching hours is flexible, and it will be arranged based on class schedules and instructor availability.
Pay:
$30.00 - $55.00 per hour
