Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, education, or related field (or equivalent experience) Prior experience teaching or working with middle/elementary school youth, ideally in informal or experiential settings Background in ecology, natural sciences, or outdoor education Skills Strong classroom/group management skills Comfort with hands-on, inquiry-based teaching methods rather than lecture-style Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners, including ELL students Strong communication and collaboration skills Basic organizational skills for materials/inventory management Logistics Reliable transportation or ability to travel to multiple school sites across NYC boroughs daily Full weekday availability during school hours for the full Nov-April commitment, weekly meetings, and prep time outside program hours
