This position requires travel to students' homes. Qualifications Teaching certification required, preferably in special education at the elementary, middle, or secondary level. General education certification is acceptable for candidates with significant experience working with students with learning differences or other special needs. Master's degree, or current enrollment in a master's program, in special education or a related education field preferred. Experience working with middle and high school students preferred; experience with elementary, college-aged, or young adult students is also valuable. Experience working with students and families in private-school, independent-school, or high-expectation educational environments is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working in private homes and demonstrate exceptional professionalism, discretion, reliability, and communication with families. Expertise in executive functioning, including study skills, organization, planning, task initiation, and time-management strategies. Strong background in reading and writing instruction or remediation. Certification or experience with Orton-Gillingham (OG), Wilson, or PAF is highly beneficial but not required. Math/science experience is a plus; proficiency through approximately fifth-grade mathematics is sufficient for the primary Executive Functioning Coach role. About Our Students Many of our students are bright and capable learners with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and/or verbal or nonverbal learning differences. Coaches must be able to build strong relationships with students while providing structured, individualized support that promotes greater independence. Independent Contractor Position Coaches are engaged as independent contractors rather than employees. Contractors maintain control over their schedules and instructional approaches, are responsible for their own taxes, and remain free to accept outside clients or employment.
