Klamath Falls Position Summary:
The Department of Respiratory Care within the College of Health, Arts, & Sciences on Oregon Tech's Klamath Falls, OR campus invites applications for the Non Tenure Track role of Instructor & Director of Clinical Education. The position provides instruction in both respiratory care didactic and laboratory courses. Instruction may occur in on-campus, laboratory, clinical, simulation, and online learning environments. This position also serves as the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for the respiratory care program. The Director of Clinical Education role includes oversight and coordination of student clinical experiences across multiple healthcare facilities and clinical settings. Responsibilities include clinical scheduling and placement, maintaining relationships with clinical affiliates and preceptors, assisting with affiliation agreements and onboarding processes, monitoring student clinical performance and progression, ensuring compliance with program and clinical site requirements, and supporting accreditation standards related to clinical education. The position also involves ongoing communication and collaboration with healthcare partners to help ensure students receive high-quality clinical learning experiences aligned with current respiratory care practice standards. The successful incumbent must be well-rounded and creative in their teaching methods and approaches. They should have the ability to present materials to students while demonstrating the use of relevant medical equipment and current respiratory care practices. Although teaching is an essential part of this position, the ability to work with students as an academic advisor and engage in applied research and/or scholarly activity is also important. Further, the position will work closely with the Program Director in the ongoing development and revision of evidence-based curriculum for both on-campus and online learning environments. This includes supporting curriculum alignment with current NBRC credentialing expectations, CoARC accreditation standards, AARC guidelines, evolving healthcare practices, and workforce needs.
Additional Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or in a related field. Applicants hired without a master's degree will be expected to complete a master's degree within a timeframe established at hire. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) granted by the National Board or Respiratory Care (NBRC) Respiratory Care Licensure by the State of Oregon At least 5 years of hospital care experience with educational background in academia, medical facility or student/new hire orientation
Preferred Requirements:
Master's or terminal degree Previous or current instructor in a respiratory care program Experience with CoARC accreditation Familiarity with conducting institutional assessments Experience in student advisement Current AARC membership
