HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

All LCSNW team members will contribute to our mission of partnering with individuals, families and communities for health, justice and hope. The Outreach Home Visitor/Parent Educator provides parenting education, family support, therapeutic classroom programming, and community outreach services to increase awareness of A Family Place programs and promote healthy child development, positive parent-child relationships, and family well-being. This bilingual (English/Spanish) position delivers intensive home visiting services to highly stressed families, coordinates and facilitates community-based parenting education groups, and assists families in accessing resources and support services. The role serves as a liaison between A Family Place programs and the community, increasing awareness, engagement, and access to available services. In addition, this position co-leads regular respite opportunities for families in the early childhood therapeutic classroom, provides oversight and support to childcare staff and volunteers during parent education programming, and collaborates with internal and external partners to strengthen outcomes for children and families. This position is full-time for 37.5 hours per week which requires the ability to work some evening hours. Enrollment in the Central Background Registry is beneficial if you are even considering working with children in the State of Oregon since it will be required before you can start a position. oregonearlylearning.com Work cooperatively with staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners to support the mission of keeping children safe and families together. Establish and maintain positive communication with parents, modeling appropriate interactions with others. Maintain open, positive communication and promote individual/group problem-solving skills with children, families, co-workers, and the community.

Home Visitation:

Conduct outreach and family engagement initiatives to increase community awareness of A Family Place programs, increase family enrollment, and strengthen community partnerships.

Including but not limited to:

Co-lead community tabling events Cultivate and manage positive relationships with internal and external partnerships to increase family referrals for A Family Place services Complete and document regular home visits based on a schedule mutually agreed upon by each family and the Home Visitor, in coordination with the supervisor. Maintain a home visiting caseload of 8-14 families. Utilize the Growing Great Kids/Growing Great Families curriculum to engage families in parent-child activities, facilitate positive attachment, and promote infant mental health. Assess children's developmental progress using evidence-based measures, and accurately document this data. Assist families to identify and achieve parenting, personal, and child goals Ensure that proper and current documentation is complete on each family (including the release of information, data on allergies and medical conditions, release and emergency contact information, and other pertinent data). Provide referrals to necessary community resources, and advocate for the family's needs and interests. Serve as co-lead staff in providing regular planned respite for families at all AFP Relief Nursery sites.

Parent Education:

Prepare and facilitate parenting education groups using approved curriculum and promote active family engagement. Coordinate logistics for parent education sessions, including registration, materials, food/snacks, and communication with families.

HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT

The ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish is required Experience in working with or providing services to children and families Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families and colleagues Ability to relate to diverse at-risk children and families with sensitivity and respect, identify and record significant individual and group behaviors and conduct objective assessments and evaluation, and to learn and apply Therapeutic Principles Knowledge of infant and child development, adverse and positive childhood experiences, family systems, trauma-informed care, mental health issues, and disabilities Step 9 or higher in Oregon Registry Online required (Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or another related field). Experience facilitating parenting education groups or adult education workshops. Exceptions may be made in conjunction with a Professional Development Plan. Ability to obtain current clearance from the Central Background Registry. Current First Aid Certification, CPR card, Food Handler's Card Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender. Motor vehicle records, valid driver's license and auto insurance are required. Thank you!
