Yesterday Job Description As an English Language Learner Navigator, you will work closely with students who are in the process of acquiring English proficiency. Your primary responsibility is to provide targeted assistance to EL students, both inside and outside the classroom, to ensure their successful integration into the English language academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Individualized Support:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to EL students based on their specific language acquisition needs. 2.
Assessment:
Collaborate with classroom and English Language teachers to assess the language proficiency of EL students and contribute to the development of personalized learning plans. 3.
Classroom Assistance:
Assist in the implementation of language development strategies within the classroom setting, adapting materials and activities to meet the linguistic needs of EL students. 4.
Cultural Sensitivity:
Foster a culturally responsive environment that values and respects the diverse backgrounds of EL students, promoting an inclusive atmosphere. 5.
Communication:
Facilitate communication between EL students, teachers, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to language development both at school and at home. 6.
Resource Development:
Assist in the creation and adaptation of instructional materials to support EL students in various subjects, aligning with curriculum standards. 7.
Monitoring Progress:
Regularly assess and monitor the language proficiency progress of EL students, adjusting support strategies accordingly. 8.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about best practices in language acquisition and attend relevant professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
