Vernon, CA Pay:
$25-$40 per hour
Schedule:
Minimum 40 hours per week | Overtime available Position Summary Superior Electric Motor Service is an established, independent provider of electro-mechanical repair services, supporting a wide range of industrial customers. We are seeking an experienced Electric Motor Mechanic to perform disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of industrial electric motors and rotating equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, precision, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment. Key Responsibilities Disassemble and inspect electric motors, pumps, and rotating equipment Diagnose mechanical failures including bearing failure, shaft wear, misalignment, and housing damage Perform bearing removal and installation using proper tools and techniques Measure and record critical dimensions (bearing fits, shaft tolerances, endplay, etc.) Clean and prepare components for repair and reassembly Reassemble motors to OEM specifications, ensuring proper fits and tolerances Set bearing clearances and endplay/preload as required Work closely with winders during rebuild process Support final testing and inspection prior to release Maintain clean and organized work area Follow shop safety procedures and standards Required Experience 2+ years of experience working on industrial electric motors or rotating equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fits, tolerances, and assemblies Experience with bearing installation and removal (including use of presses, heaters, etc.) Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) Familiarity with shop equipment and tools (presses, pullers, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience with pumps, gearboxes, or other rotating equipment Knowledge of EASA repair practices Experience with shaft repair or sleeve installation Understanding of alignment techniques (laser or dial indicator)

$25-$40 per hour (based on experience)
