The Opportunity:
The Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join the team as a project manager overseeing multiple capital projects as the company continues it's investment in our core business to support the mills client groups.
Job Duties:
Manage multiple capital projects (primarily electrical, instrumentation and/or controls), including design, purchasing, contract and construction management, financial and documentation Project development within a structured environment on such things as Front End Loading Provide E&I project engineering support to the mechanical project engineers on their projects Work with Purchasing Dept. to identify all project materials and equipment for project completion Assist in the attainment of general mill goals by serving on special teams or supplying teams with necessary technical support Responsible for coordinating engineering and project activities while interacting with Maintenance and Operations Supply technical assistance for electrical equipment failure analysis and preservation on existing mill equipment Prepare, review and update mill specifications and review management of change proposals Provide E&I expertise on maintenance work orders as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology or related field and 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupation. Position requires experience in the following: Process design, power distribution, PLC / DCS and variable speed drives. Capital project development, execution, and installation/commissioning. Troubleshooting plant electrical equipment and systems. Supporting plant maintenance team on preventive maintenance activities, including equipment obsolescence planning and spare parts procurement strategy. Pulp and Paper experience a plus.

The salary range for this position is $117,750.00 - $196,250.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
