May 25, 2026 Job Description We are pleased to announce that we are seeking qualified applicants for two temporary Summer Learning Coordinators for our Summer Learning program. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team that supports the efforts of making success possible for all Redmond students.
Timeframe:
Required teacher professional development and planning includes: Four (4) 2.5-hour sessions (dates: May 26, June 2, after 4:00 pm; TBD on remaining 5 hrs) One (1) 7-hour session, Thursday, July 16 (school set up) One (1) 4 hr session Friday, August 14 (school wrap-up) Up to 7 hours of additional individual planning if needed Additional Coordinator-specific organizational planning sessions Elementary Summer Learning will run FOUR weeks (Monday through Thursday); Week 1: July 20-23 Week 2: July 27-30 Week 3: August 3-6 Week 4: August 10-13 Student hours are tentatively 9:00 a.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
Hold a current TSPC license for teaching Experience teaching K-6th-grade students Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., grade-level lead, instructional coach, summer program leadership, or committee facilitation). A commitment to continuous professional growth A commitment to utilizing technology & STEAM in the classroom A commitment to professional collaboration A commitment to building and maintaining relationships with all youth A high level of knowledge, skills, and expertise related to scaffolding learning and instruction, meeting needs of all students Demonstrated ability to support diverse learners, including multilingual students and students requiring additional academic support. Responsibilities:
Summer Learning Expectations Attend all 6 required sessions of district professional development and preparation (see "Timeframe" above for more details) Teach four weeks of Summer Learning (see "Timeframe" above) Develop and collaboratively plan engaging lessons that are rooted in literacy instruction and enriching grade-level learning. Collect pre
  • and post-data on targeted literacy skills Program Coordination & Operations Develop and manage master schedules for students, staff, and instructional blocks to ensure efficient and effective program implementation.
Coordinate daily program logistics, including student groupings, staffing assignments, and transitions. Monitor and adjust schedules and systems in real time to respond to student and staff needs. Support procurement and organization of instructional materials and supplies aligned to program goals. Instructional Leadership & Staff Support Plan and facilitate pre-program training and ongoing support for summer learning staff. Provide on-site leadership to ensure alignment to district instructional priorities, including use of HQIM and effective instructional practices. Support teachers with problem-solving, planning, and implementation throughout the program. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes shared responsibility and continuous improvement. Communication & Family Engagement Serve as a primary point of contact for staff, families, and school leaders during the program. Communicate proactively with families regarding program expectations, updates, and student support. Ensure clear, consistent communication systems are in place and functioning effectively. Team Collaboration & Leadership Work in close partnership with the co-coordinator to ensure cohesive leadership, aligned decision-making, and consistent program implementation. Demonstrate strong relational skills to build trust, maintain a positive culture, and support staff morale. Lead with flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution Address day-to-day challenges with proactive problem-solving and sound decision-making. Support resolution of concerns or conflicts involving students, staff, or families in a professional and solutions-oriented manner. Maintain a focus on student-centered outcomes when navigating complex situations. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience serving as a teacher in a Redmond School District summer learning program, demonstrating familiarity with program structures and expectations. Strong organizational skills with experience managing complex schedules, systems, or logistics. Experience planning and facilitating professional learning or staff training. Ability to use student data to inform instructional decisions, grouping, and supports. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, students, and families. Experience with problem-solving and conflict resolution in a school or team setting. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership role, maintaining alignment and consistency with a co-coordinator. One RSD elementary campus (TBD) will serve as the Summer Learning site for students across the Redmond School District. Programming is anticipated to include approximately three 1st-grade classes, three 2nd-grade classes, two 3rd-grade classes, two 4th-grade classes, two 5th-grade classes, and two 6th-grade classes, depending on enrollment. Salary Stipend:
Summer Camp Instructor Certified Stipend $11,500 Gross Pay (before taxes) for up to 200 hrs. Final stipend pay will be prorated at a rate of $57.14/hour for absence from the agreed-upon schedule above, in the event of an emergency absence Final stipend pay will be paid with the completion of duties August 31, 2026.
