Independent Democratic Emergency Medicine Group - Medical Director Opportunity About the Opportunity We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our long-standing independent physician-owned group as part of a planned Medical Director transition. This is a unique opportunity to step into a stable, democratic emergency medicine practice that has served the community since the mid-1970s. The group staffs the Emergency Department at Willamette Valley Medical Center, a 60-bed Level III Trauma Center serving the greater Willamette Valley region. The current Medical Director has been with the group since 2007 and is seeking the right physician leader for a gradual leadership transition over the next 6-12 months. Medical Director Role, Compensation, and Benefits The Medical Director role includes: Approximately 60-80 clinical hours monthly plus Administrative responsibilities This position offers a pathway into the Medical Director role over approximately 6-12 months. Board Certified in Emergency Medicine with prior leadership experience preferred Minimum 7+ years of post-training experience preferred Physician scheduling and operational oversight Collaboration with hospital administration and medical staff leadership Quality and patient flow initiatives Physician mentorship and recruitment Departmental strategy and leadership development The group places significant emphasis on: Collegiality and professionalism Strong communication and conflict-management skills Relationship-building ability, clinical credibility and operational leadership Long-term cultural fit within the partnership Compensation & Benefits Lucrative compensation package with monthly Medical Director stipend plus clinical, productivity, and bonus structure Partnership compensation structure with quarterly bonus distributions Company-paid malpractice and disability coverage Group health insurance, custom 401(k) structure, K-1 partnership model Relocation assistance available Practice Highlights Independent physician-owned democratic group 26,000 annual ED visits with 22-bed Emergency Department Level III Trauma Center Stable hospital agreement through 2030 Broad-spectrum community emergency medicine - 1.5-2.0 patients per hour AI-assisted documentation tools utilized by much of the group Strong physician autonomy and collaborative culture Location Highlights - McMinnville, Oregon Located in the heart of Oregon wine country, McMinnville is consistently recognized as one of the most desirable small-city communities in the Pacific Northwest for physicians and families seeking long-term lifestyle balance, outdoor recreation, and access to major metropolitan amenities without living in a large urban environment.
