Senior Design Engineer Woodstock, New York, USA 130000-155000 Job Description Our client is a leading provider of high-performance AC and brushless DC Fans, Blowers, and Cooling Systems for the aerospace and defense industries The Senior Design Engineer supports the design, development, and testing of various types of electric motors, including both brushless DC and AC induction motors The Senior Design Engineer will translate technical information into basic terms and effectively communicate them to the build and test teams.
Responsibilities:
Support new designs, continued improvements, and engineering changes Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a Self-Starter. Ability to learn and apply new skills where technical accuracy is important Technical support for Marketing/Sales, Production and Program Management Support warranty and product failure reviews documenting corrective actions Develop technical reviews approve drawings, BOMs, test plans, and reports
Qualifications Requirements:
: BS and/or MS Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering degree. 8 + years' relevant experience in an AS 9100 quality system manufacturer Motor design experience and test support for high performance cooling fans, blowers, or like equipment. Expert regarding GD&T Expertise in Stator & rotor assemblies, motor assembly and subcomponents Strong foundation in electromagnetics including: Single and three phase AC induction motors, Pulse width modulated brushless DC (BLDC) motors Material knowledge in electrical steel, magnets, housing, copper, aluminum etc. Military and commercial aerospace experience (A Plus) Excellent communicator with the ability to work independently and with others Summarize and present work to management and cross-functional teams Evaluation and testing of materials, parts, and overall product performance Computer skills include: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc. Software, magnetic FEA solver and Speed motor design software (Preferred) Ansys Motor CAD analysis software (
