An Aerospace Engineer designs aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft using knowledge of engineering and physics, and tests prototypes to see if they work according to design. May specialize in aeronautical design and work with airplanes and helicopters, or specialize in astronautical design and work with vehicles used in outer space. Comsat Architects is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to join our team in developing, designing and analyzing advanced space systems for NASA missions and other civil, defense, and commercial space applications. Your work will enable space robotic and human exploration missions to reliably communicate to mission operations centers. To support our work with NASA and other agencies, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities: Perform concept development, systems analysis, and engineering design for spacecraft, space communications satellites, constellations, and networks Work closely with software developers and space communications analysts to support the development of advanced space systems Identify and develop engineering design, analysis, and modeling tools, as needed Work with interface control documentation and support integration planning, implementation, and testing Work on product development in an advanced laboratory environment Interact directly with the customers to support technical discussions and project activities Prepare technical reports and present engineering analyses and results
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Internship experience in aerospace engineering or a related field Basic understanding of communications principles and fundamentals Basic knowledge of space and aero systems, their design processes, and their fundamental principles Basic programming experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or similar engineering software Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Power Point, and Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Experience using AI-assisted tools to support engineering and technical work Authorization to work in the United Sates as a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master's or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
