Job Description

Now hiring a Simulation Engineer Job Description We are seeking a high-performing Simulation Engineer to join our team in executing the design and integration of a simulator for a new aircraft development program. This role involves developing an aircraft simulation system to support overall aircraft development and system testing. Responsibilities Develop and implement the core of an aircraft software simulator, including a 6DOF dynamic model, aerodynamic and flight control effectors, and environmental models, primarily using MATLAB Simulink. Create and implement models and interfaces for aircraft equipment such as servos, flight control computers, and engine simulators. Develop a Hardware-In-The-Loop simulator system, including architecture, hardware definition, and simulator interfaces, and integrate with external data sources and simulators like Ground Control Systems. Lead hands-on integration and testing of the simulator system. Essential Skills Proficiency in MATLAB Simulink. Experience with Simulink infrastructure for plant models. Experience with data bus systems to organize multiple signals into a single interface channel. Experience in selecting hardware for simulation and physical integration. Hands-on experience in integrating and testing electronic systems. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on controls or simulation. 5+ years of experience in unmanned aircraft systems and their electronic components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Graduate-level coursework or experience in flight dynamics, aerodynamics, or aircraft control laws is strongly desired. Multidisciplinary and integrated system development experience. Familiarity with data bus and device interface protocols including RS-485, CAN, and Ethernet. Experience with LabVIEW, National Instruments, and D SPACE. Work Environment This role requires working onsite in Sterling every day. The position is open to U.S. Persons only, due to export control requirements, but clearance is not required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
