Pay Rate:
$119 per hour Target start 8/17/26 - 1 year contract Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, models, and supporting documentation that translate engineering concepts into manufacturable products. The work will support ALS-U engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and installation activities. Create and maintain electrical models, wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts using project-approved CAD software Review and revise designs based on engineering feedback, design reviews, and approved engineering changes. Maintain organized design files, libraries, and revision-controlled documentation within Windchill or other LBNL-designated systems. Generate bills of materials, wire and cable lists, and supporting documentation for manufacturing and assembly activities. Provide support for manufacturing, assembly and/or installation activities. Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, project managers, and other designated project personnel to ensure that designs meet technical requirements and integrate with applicable product assemblies. Participate in design coordination and design-review activities as requested by the Technical Representative.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience producing electrical CAD designs using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad, or equivalent software Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing-ready electrical documentation, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and wire or cable schedules. Experience developing and maintaining revision-controlled engineering documentation within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems. Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, electrical components, schematic development, and wiring practices. Familiarity with applicable industry standards and codes relevant to electrical design activities. Prior experience supporting laboratories, research facilities, particle accelerators, or other complex scientific or industrial engineering projects. Proven experience using Autodesk Inventor for three-dimensional electrical or electromechanical design. Experience integrating electrical and mechanical CAD models. Prior experience using Windchill for engineering document and configuration management. Experience supporting fabrication, assembly, installation, or commissioning complex engineered systems.
