We are currently looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer / Draftsman to join our growing team, with primary design focus on machined parts and sheet metal assemblie s. Tthis role will support design and documentation processes for assigned components. The ideal candidate will have advanced SolidWorks, skills, automotive knowledge (car enthusiast level highly desirable), with a detail-oriented mindset and a passion for drafting.
Responsibilities:
Creates 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks, in supports prototype builds Collaborates with engineering, fabrication, and associated vendors to bring products from concept through production. Update existing drawings and sub-assemblies per the engineer's instructions. Create new detail drawings and sub-assemblies as needed. Support projects that include new products, but also sustaining projects and VIP (value improvement projects). Scanning and measurement of existing parts to use in the design of new/modified products using standard measuring tools and computer aided tools. Assist in the preparation of project documentation Inspect and verify accuracy of drawings to parts. Draft documentation that may include BOM (Bill of Materials), test reports, and technical specs for instruction sheets. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements Review and modify designs to correct any errors or discrepancies
Qualifications:
Proficiency in mechanical design and drafting Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks (3D modeling and drawing creation) Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials (CNC machining, fabrication, welding, bending) Hands-on experience in a shop, fabrication, prototyping environment strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Education /
Experience:
High School diploma, required. AA Degree in drafting or CAD certification preferred or 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
