Position Overview:

We're looking for a SolidWorks Sheet Metal Drafter who understands both design and real-world manufacturing. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating accurate, production-ready work and enjoys collaborating with a hands-on fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities:

Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks (Sheet Metal) Generate flat patterns, DXF files, and laser-ready outputs Apply bend allowances, K-factors, and tolerances accurately Interpret customer drawings, sketches, and concepts into manufacturable designs Work closely with press brake operators, welders, and laser operators to ensure smooth production Identify and resolve design issues before they impact the shop floor Maintain organized files and revision control Manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment

Qualifications:

2+ years of SolidWorks experience, preferably in sheet metal Strong understanding of fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding) Ability to produce accurate, shop-ready drawings with minimal oversight Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills Comfortable working in a collaborative, production-focused environment Preferred (Not Required): Experience in a job shop or high-mix production setting Familiarity with nesting software, CNC workflows, or ERP systems Technical degree or certification in drafting or engineering
