Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting documentation of product design activities utilizing Inventor CAD software. Perform accurate and precise drafting work. Create ECNs, maintain project print planners, and have a thorough understanding of drafting standards. Lead/Assist others with Inventor questions and provide CAD support across the department as needed. Responsible for supporting product design activities including developing new designs and/or improving upon the performance and design of existing products. Support the R&D team by participating in design activities, building prototypes, and testing design concepts. Provide drafting/modeling and document management support. Participate in prototype builds and install windows and doors for testing. Show a proven track record of success on multiple complex product development projects and ability to train others on best practices of document support, prototype activities and installation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Create 3D models Develop detailed drawings Work with Engineers and Designers to address product updates and support the creation of new product design concepts. Use creativity and ingenuity in product development and continuous improvement activities. Revise drawings based on feedback from engineers or clients, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Assist in the production of graphic design elements for presentations and project documentation. Maintain organized files of all drafts and revisions for easy access by team members. Ensure document revision control is maintained through all process steps Strong blueprint reading and math skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Product Knowledge:
Become intimately familiar with product components and designs, understanding how design relates to field performance and certification requirements. Use computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software to take customer 3D models and draft 2D prints for distribution to the manufacturing floor

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
2+ years of experience in mechanical or industrial design drafting using Creo preferred. Proficiency in CREO Strong understanding of mechanical design, fabrication processes, and assembly methods. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications. Experience creating and maintaining BOMs preferred. Working knowledge of parametric modeling Must possess basic knowledge of manufacturing processes Displays a positive demeaner and actively participates in a team environment
Education and Experience:
2 year AAS degree preferred Associates in CAD/Industrial Design from an accredited institution 1-2 year of related experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasionally be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
