Ban-Koe Systems is an established building automation systems and Human Resources software provider that is growing and has a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in many aspects of a small business and is comfortable working independently. Ban-Koe designs and markets Human Resources software and fire alarm, door access, CCTV, and intercom systems.
POSITION PURPOSE
This position produces and maintains computer-aided design (CAD) drawings that reflect how low voltage systems will be installed into commercial buildings. Under supervision, the CAD Operator/Drafter will prepare construction drawings required to support the installation of electronic special systems (fire alarm, security, access control, and other low voltage specialty systems). Electronic systems drawings will typically consist of items such as floor plan layouts, riser diagrams, electrical interconnections drawings and installation terminations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Create clear and accurate 2D CAD drawings. Maintain and update project drawing files. Exercise judgment in selection of scale, proper views, and proper placement on drawings in accordance with standard practices and within procedural limitations. Using AutoCAD, produce layouts and submittal documents. Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews. Perform special projects as assigned by management. Adhere to and promote all company standards and policies.
SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
There are times when the CAD Operator may be called upon to check in orders and receive incoming shipments. Training will be provided on the entire shipment check-in process. Some boxes weigh up to 50lbs and others are available to assist in lifting if needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficiency with AutoCAD and the ability to create and interpret CAD prints. Basic understanding of building construction drawings. Ability to perform calculations involving the use of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Effective oral and written communications skills. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships. Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong teamwork. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the capacity to learn new systems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. One-year practical experience in a drafting capacity.
