Job Summary The Drafter II is responsible for producing accurate submittal and fabrication drawings for architectural millwork projects, translating architectural drawings, specifications, and the Engineering Project Plan into buildable drawings for GC/architect approval and shop floor production. The Drafter II partners closely with Project Management and Production to keep drawings accurate and on schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate within the Standard Operating Procedures and Standards defined by Forest Millwork leadership, ensuring work decisions are made with a consistent focus on protecting and improving project profitability and efficiency.
• Produce submittal drawings for General Contractor and architect review and approval, based on the approved Engineering Project Plan.
• Produce shop drawings for production, translating approved submittal drawings into fabricationready detail and CNC nesting.
• Model project geometry in CAD/3D software as the basis for both submittal and shop drawing sets.
• Incorporate GC/architect review comments and revise drawings through to approval.
• Assign drawing pages to work orders in coordination with Production and Project Management.
• Participate in internal review of submittal drawings with Project Management and Production before drawings are sent to the General Contractor.
• Maintain drawing standards and templates in coordination with the Process Improvement Lead and Plant Manager.
• Surface constructability issues or drawing standard gaps identified through production feedback.
• Update drafting status and progress in Innergy. Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience drafting for architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, or a related woodworking/manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD/3D modeling software (IXCAD/IMOS iX experience a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across office and shop floor audiences. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience specifically in an architectural millwork or high-end casework environment.
• Familiarity with Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS).
• Familiarity with Cutrite or similar CNC nesting software.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Supervisory Responsibility None. This is an individual contributor role. Tools and Systems Used

Pay:

$62,400.00 - $74,880.00 per year
