Cabinet & Millwork DrafterHigh-End Residential & CommercialCompany OverviewOur client is a premier, full-service interior design, high-end kitchen cabinetry, and architectural millwork company based in New York City. The firm specializes in contemporary, design-driven cabinetry and bespoke millwork solutions for luxury residential properties, multi-unit developments, and commercial spaces.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cabinet & Millwork Drafter to translate design concepts, architectural sketches, and project takeoffs into precise, fabrication-ready shop drawings. This position will collaborate closely with interior designers, sales consultants, project managers, and production teams to ensure accurate execution of high-end cabinetry and millwork projects.
Qualifications & Requirements3-5 years of drafting experience specializing in custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, or high-end European-style cabinetry.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or cabinet manufacturing software such as Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, or TopSolid.
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural sections, and MEP plans.
Solid understanding of wood species, veneer matching, hardware integration, frameless and face-frame construction, and material tolerances.
Strong spatial awareness and mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
Experience producing accurate, fabrication-ready documentation.
Desired CharacteristicsExceptional attention to detail and precision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows and practical fabrication requirements.
Ability to identify potential design or production issues before fabrication.

This position will collaborate closely with interior designers, sales consultants, project managers, and production teams to ensure accurate execution of high-end cabinetry and millwork projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesShop Drawings:
Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD configurations for kitchen cabinetry, integrated appliance panels, bathroom vanities, and architectural casework.Technical Integration:
Develop detailed floor-to-ceiling millwork designs and ensure proper integration of appliances and other components.Materials & Specifications:
Calculate dimensions, material requirements, joinery methods, hardware requirements, veneer layouts, and other production specifications.Site Verification:
Review field measurements and existing conditions to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.Revision Control:
Incorporate architectural redlines, field changes, building requirements, and client revisions into drawings.Production Coordination:
Provide clear fabrication instructions, assembly details, cut lists, and production documentation to manufacturing teams.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
