CAD Drafter Flue Tech Inc Norwood, NJ Job Details Full-time $22 - $28 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Spreadsheets Word embeddings CAD design (engineering design task) Productivity software Full Job Description Flue Tech Inc. - Norwood, New Jersey Flue Tech Inc. is a premium residential and commercial fireplace, chimney, venting, and specialty construction company serving the Tri-State area since 1999 - more than 27 years. Our projects range from maintenance and restoration work to complex fireplace and chimney systems developed from concept, field information, architectural documents, and project specifications. We are seeking an on-site CAD Drafter to support our estimating, project management, field operations, and design teams. The position is focused on producing accurate, organized construction and coordination drawings for fireplace, chimney, venting, and specialty projects. Primary Responsibilities Prepare fireplace and chimney drawings and provide drafting support to the project-management and estimating teams. Interpret architectural, structural, and project drawings, specifications, written direction, and field measurements. Create drawings from written and verbal specifications from initial layout through final revision. Coordinate closely with Estimators and Project Managers so design intent, field conditions, dimensions, and project requirements are accurately represented. Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, constructability, coordination, and compliance with cited project requirements. Maintain organized revision control and electronic drawing files. Prepare shop and coordination drawings for use by clients, contractors, architects, designers, field crews, and other trades. Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required. Track workload and communicate progress, questions, and drawing issues promptly. Required Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD. Ability to read architectural and structural drawings. Strong attention to detail and disciplined checking of dimensions, notes, and revisions. Ability to work accurately under deadlines and manage multiple active projects. Professional communication and ability to take direction from Project Managers and supervisors. Working proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred Skills SolidWorks experience. Construction, architectural, mechanical, fabrication, shop-drawing, or specialty-trade drafting experience. Experience coordinating drawings with multiple trades and field conditions. Direct fireplace and chimney experience is helpful but not required. We will train a strong drafter on our systems, products, terminology, and project standards. Compensation $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience, drafting capability, software proficiency, and demonstrated accuracy. This is an on-site, full-time position based at our Norwood, New Jersey facility.
