Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Create and modify 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD
  • Develop detailed drawings for parts, assemblies, and fabrication projects
  • Revise drawings based on engineering changes and production feedback
  • Reverse engineer existing parts and components when drawings are unavailable
  • Take measurements and create accurate manufacturing drawings
  • Support machinists and fabricators with design, fit, and manufacturability questions
  • Create and optimize plasma cutting files and nesting layouts
  • Maintain drawing revisions and engineering documentation
  • Assist with prototypes, product improvements, and design projects
  • Train new employees on CAD and nesting software as needed
Qualifications:
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Understanding of machining, fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both office and shop personnel
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a machine shop, fabrication shop, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with reverse engineering
  • Experience with Hypertherm ProNest and plasma cutting systems
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and manufacturing software
