Job Summary We are seeking an experienced SolidWorks designer for project-based contract work involving the development of molds and tooling for plastic thermoforming.

Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in SolidWorks or Mastercam 3D modeling Ability to develop accurate, manufacturing-ready 3D models of molds and tooling Ability to create detailed drawings from 3D models. Understanding of practical manufacturing requirements, tolerances, and material considerations. Ability to work independently from sketches, dimensions, sample parts, and design concepts

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of plastic thermoforming processes and mold design. Experience designing molds for formed plastic components Experience operating with CNC routers Ability to develop CNC programs and tool paths for trimming or machining plastic parts. Familiarity with the use of Mastercam 5 -axis tool path post processor. Knowledge of 5-axis CNC machining Experience with a MotionMaster CNC router equipped with an upgraded Fagor8065M 5-axis controller.

THIS IS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR POSITION- NOT A DIRECT EMPLOYMENT POSITION. WORK WILL BE ASSIGNED ON A PROJECT BASIS. THE CONTRACTOR MUST PROVIDE RELIABLE COMMUNICATION, MEET AGREED- UPON SCHEDULES, AND PRODUCE ACCURATE, MANUFACTURING-READY WORK.
