This role involves collaborating with drafters, sales/design, and production teams to ensure that cabinet designs are accurately translated into manufacturable plans, meeting industry standards, customer specifications and company requirements. In this role, we are also looking for someone to oversee the project of implementing Cabinet Vision software in our facility. Candidates with Cabinet Vision experience are highly encouraged to apply! Key Responsibilities Convert draft designs and conceptual drawings of cabinets into detailed, accurate, and production-ready engineering drawings. Use CAD software Cabinet Vision, Alpha Cam, KCD, Sketchup, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, to create and modify engineering drawings for production. Ensure drawings include necessary details such as materials, dimensions, tolerances, assembly instructions, and hardware requirements. Collaborate with sales, production teams, and project managers to clarify technical specifications and ensure the designs meet manufacturability standards. Review and verify design documents to ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations. Perform checks for design accuracy, completeness, and functionality before finalizing drawings for manufacturing. Provide technical support to the production floor by addressing any questions or issues related to the drawings during the fabrication process. Update and revise engineering drawings based on feedback or changes during the production phase, ensuring design integrity is maintained. Maintain accurate records of all drawing revisions and document changes. Assist in material selection and review material requirements to align with design specifications and production capabilities. Conduct periodic reviews of current design practices and suggest improvements to streamline production efficiency. Measurement of Success Ensure the engineering department meets all deliverable deadlines Ensure engineering instructions are clear and accurate and do not cause errors in the manufacturing process. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods and perform office tasks Ability to move, lift and inspect cabinet parts and assembled boxes to ensure production is accurately following directions Preferred Experience and Skills Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Drafting Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in converting draft drawings into production-ready engineering documents, preferably in cabinet design or similar fields. Proficiency in CAD software such as Cabinet Vision, Alpha Cam, KCD, Sketchup, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other relevant tools. 3 Years Experience Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and construction techniques related to cabinet design. Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and regulations relevant to cabinet design and construction. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify and correct errors in technical drawings. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate with design teams and production staff.
