Surge Custom Woodworks is a growing custom cabinetry and woodworking business in Northridge, CA. We specialize in high-quality, made-to-order cabinetry for residential and commercial projects. We are expanding our team and looking for skilled, motivated professionals who take pride in their craft. About the Position We are hiring a CAD Designer to produce accurate, production-ready cabinetry drawings and shop layouts using Cabinet Vision. You will work directly with the Owner and shop team to bring custom residential and commercial cabinetry projects from design to the shop floor. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Northridge facility. What You Will Do Create and revise cabinetry drawings, elevations, and shop layouts in Cabinet Vision Produce accurate, build-ready shop drawings from client measurements, floor plans, and project specifications Collaborate with the Owner and shop personnel to ensure designs are production-ready before release to the floor Incorporate client and project feedback through revision cycles, maintaining clear version control Conduct or assist with field measurements at client sites as needed Maintain organized, version-controlled digital project files What We Are Looking For Cabinet Vision experience is strongly preferred; candidates proficient in other CAD platforms (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) with the commitment to transition fully to Cabinet Vision will be considered Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and written specifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dimensions, clearances, and material callouts Understanding of cabinetry construction methods and materials sufficient to produce buildable shop drawings Ability to manage multiple projects and meet drawing deadlines Background or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is a plus Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently Compensation and Schedule Full-time, on-site at our Northridge, CA facility This is an in-office position; remote work is not available Competitive pay based on experience; discussed during the interview
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
