Mechanical CAD Designer (R&D & Product Development)

Full-Time About Action Clutch Action Clutch designs and manufactures high-performance clutch systems and flywheels for automotive enthusiasts and professional racers around the world. We are passionate about engineering innovative products that push the limits of performance and reliability. As we continue expanding our product line, we're looking for a Mechanical CAD Designer to join our Research & Development team. What You'll Do Create accurate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings for clutch and flywheel components. Reverse engineer OEM and aftermarket automotive parts. Design new products from concept through production. Prepare drawings with GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications. Collaborate with production to ensure manufacturability. Assist in prototyping, testing, and continuous product improvement. Maintain engineering documentation and revision history. Work with measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM/3D scanning data when available. Qualifications 5+ years of mechanical CAD design experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred), Fusion 360, Inventor, or similar CAD software. Experience creating production-ready manufacturing drawings. Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies and machining processes. Experience reverse engineering physical parts. Ability to solve design and manufacturing challenges independently. Excellent attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Automotive aftermarket or motorsports experience. Familiarity with CNC machining and manufacturing. Experience with 3D scanners or coordinate measuring equipment. Knowledge of clutch, transmission, drivetrain, or powertrain components. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience.
