Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Glass and Glazing Shop Drawings Drafter to join our dynamic design team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise and comprehensive shop drawings for glass and glazing projects, ensuring seamless communication between design, manufacturing, and construction teams. Duties Develop detailed shop drawings for glass and glazing installations based on architectural and structural plans. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawings are accurate and complete. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and SolidWorks to produce 2D and 3D models. Create schematics, layouts, sections, elevations, and assembly details for glazing systems. Review project specifications and coordinate with the construction team to ensure drawings align with site conditions. Update drawings as needed throughout the project lifecycle to reflect design changes or site modifications. Assist in preparing construction documentation and facilitate clear communication of design intent through detailed visualizations including 2D animations when applicable. Experience Proven experience in drafting shop drawings for glass and glazing systems within the construction or architectural industry. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and SolidWorks. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, schematics, and construction processes related to glazing installations. Familiarity with drafting standards, building codes, and safety regulations relevant to glass work. Experience working on complex projects requiring precise detailing and coordination across multiple disciplines. Knowledge of 2D animation techniques is a plus for creating engaging visual presentations of design concepts. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
